As humans, the pursuit of change and progress is something that is innate to every one of us. Like it or not, there will always be things in life that we hope could be a little different, a little better in the way that daily situations & events turn out. It could be in the way we think, speak, or the way we handle everything from our finances to our relationships with others. We seek to become better -- and we should. As we strive to continuously exceed our potential, we rise above all previous versions of ourselves and grow stronger. In this issue, we look at some ways in which we can embrace a better self and an even better future. | The Relentless Pursuit of Improvement It is no secret that I believe growth is the only guarantee that tomorrow will be better. It is no mystery that I think personal growth is the steppingstone to success for any leader. If you or I want to stay in front of the curve and lead others, then we must do the work that keeps us out front. We must continually improve. But as I seek to improve, there is one thing I know not to chase, and that is perfection. Perfection is a trap. Do not chase perfection as a leader - chase improvement. Make today better than yesterday so tomorrow can be better than today. The relentless pursuit of improvement will take any leader far. | I used to be jealous of other people's wealth and success - here is how I finally got over it Envy. It is an emotion that we all feel at some point. It is also a really dangerous emotion when we are trying to build a strong financial life. Envy is pure poison to a healthy financial life. After all, envy encourages us to make some pretty poor decisions. Like every other character flaw, however, envy can be overcome. You can directly reduce the envy itself, or you can at least reduce the bad choices you make as a result of envy. Here are seven strategies I use to cut envy out of my own life. | To reach beyond your limits by training your mind | Marisa Peer | TEDxKCS | Proudly Brought to You I seek to reach out to people who believe in safeguarding the interests of their loved ones. I was referred to Yuhong by a good friend of mine many months ago. Since then, I have gotten to chat with him multiple times about my financial plans and goals. From our discussions, I find Yuhong to be resourceful, engaging and someone that sets himself apart from other financial planners!
He's definitely worth your time! Highly recommend! | | | Lim Jun Jie. SIT SIE(BS) Student I met Yu Hong during my national service days. Despite his heavy duty as a commander, he always spends time listening to his team's concerns and working towards our goals together. Thus, I trust him and his services.
We had a few financial advisory sessions, and I feel he always tries his best to understand my situation and challenges before advising me. Not only does he has vast financial knowledge, he often simplifies them for me, making sure that I fully understand the available options.
I truly appreciate that he is transparent and not pushy, which made me feel comfortable throughout our sessions.
Most importantly, he always checks in with me to make sure I am living well, if I'm on track toward my goal, and offers me his help whenever I need them. I feel reassured and motivated to have his help. | | | Tan Jun Jie. Actuary. Yuhong is a long-time friend of mine.
He has always been very sincere, righteous and dependable as a friend, and I'm very pleased to have him as my financial consultant.
I greatly appreciate his generosity in sharing life advice that he has accumulated through his own experience and from people around him, so that I can make a more informed decision, not only in finances but also in life.
I'm assured and comforted that he has my best interests, and is someone that I can depend on in times of distress. | | | Adilah. Mother & MOE Teacher. One of the best decisions I made for myself in 2022 was to engage Yu Hong as my financial advisor.
Interestingly, the first time I met Yu Hong for financial planning wasn't even for myself! It was actually a meet-up for my husband. My husband had no insurance coverage in Singapore and was adamant that he didn't need any, until he met Yu Hong.
The first meeting with Yu Hong went a lot like a chat under the sun with a long-lost friend. We spoke openly about our dreams, goals and financial limitations. The conversation was effortless and vulnerable; no pretense and just filled with hope and faith. Yu Hong's sincerity and genuine efforts in learning about us before planning for my husband's policies truly shifted my view about financial planners.
A month later, while going through my own policies, I realised that I may be spending more than I needed. Even though Yu Hong wasn't my financial advisor then, I turned to him for help in looking through my policies. The fact that he got back to me promptly with a customised document designed just for me and took me through my policies spoke volume about how earnest he is helping others.
I think what really moved me was the fact that he honestly had nothing to gain from me and he could easily have rejected my request and directed me to my then-financial advisor. But without any perks on his ends, he painstakingly reviewed my policies and dedicated his time to help me better understand my insurance coverage.
It was obviously a no-brainer for me to transfer my policies over to Yu Hong because at the end of the day, you'd want a financial advisor who is truly passionate about serving his best for you. Yu Hong is that man, rooting for you in the corner.. never pushing you for his own benefits but only giving gentle nudges to steer you towards the right direction in managing your finances.
Both my husband and I are confident that we made the right choice in engaging Yu Hong as our financial advisor. We trust that he'd be there when times are difficult for us.
True enough, Yu Hong was there when I had health complications during my postpartum period. Without a second thought, he came down to the hospital and waited patiently for me to be admitted. He even had a coat ready to offer since it was freezing in the waiting area. His actions are true testament to who Yu Hong is as a person; a compassionate man with a magnanimous heart.
Thank you Yu Hong for not only being our financial advisor, but a confidante to both of us. We are blessed to have you in our lives. | | | Ke Cheng. Student. I've known Yuhong since our army days, and it's great to see him doing something he enjoys and helping his clients with their finances.
What I really appreciate about Yuhong is that he takes the time to understand my specific needs before tailoring a financial plan.
He's not pushy or anything, but he gives me solid advice that helps me make better decisions.
I'm excited to continue learning from him and hearing his financial tips! | | | Yi Peng. NTU Accountancy Student Yu Hong was referred by my good friend few months ago and I must say he has been very helpful. On top of the insightful discussion about my financial plans, he has taken the extra step to assist me in my medical documents.
Back when I tore my ACL, I reached out to him for some help regarding my medical documents and claims. He has been nothing but a great help and I truly appreciated his efforts.
He is truly a genuine person and wants to help anyone in anyway. I do hope more people can reach out to him as he will really put in the effort to assist you.
All the best brother! | | | | |
